I also think that agriculture would suffer in the form of prices going up. But so be it. I'll pay more for my veggies if the corporate farms would pay a working wage. The same goes for the restaurant and hotel industry. Without the undocumented workers all of these industries will take a major hit.
Again heavy fines for the companies and working wages for US citizens are a major part of the answer.
My first job as a kid was picking tomatoes for Hunts in the San Joaquin Valley for a buck an hour. After moving to Laguna Beach I worked as a dishwasher, then busboy cook etc. American kids will do these jobs if you pay them a descent wage.
PS
Just as a fun point as this subject came up. I was working on a teacher the other day. I asked her what she taught and she said US History. The quipped "real" history or what I was taught where we never heard the term Manifest Destiny? Manifest Destiny has always been a sore subject with me,
my grandfather was Chiricahua Apache.
And hes gay too!!!!
So next time your in Boise oe San Carlos, don't bend down you 'll end up with feathers sticking out your ass.....

We let the gays out of the closet and see what we got? The world will never be the same.
